Estonian business visa
Business visa, work visa, D visa - these are all concepts of a long-term visa, which is issued to a foreigner for up to 12 months or 365 days for a single or multiple stay in Estonia. Also, a long-term visa gives the right to travel throughout the Schengen area for up to 90 days within six months.

What is the D visa for?


  • For short-term work;
  • In order to start work and subsequently apply for a temporary residence permit in Estonia;
  • Have legal grounds for staying in Estonia;
  • To manage an Estonian company in which a foreigner is a member of the board, if necessary for doing business.

What is required for a business visa?
  • You must contact the nearest Estonian representative office;
  • Submit biometric data, which includes fingerprints and a photograph;
  • Fill out a visa application;
  • Apply for short-term work (if you are an employee)
  • Health insurance policy;
  • Payment of state fees;
  • Documents confirming the purpose of the trip.

How many days does the D visa process take?
The visa application must be submitted no later than 15 calendar days before the planned visit to Estonia, but not earlier than six months before the start of the intended trip. Starting from the date of submission, the decision to issue a visa is made in about two weeks.
